A hidden Movosprint model? No, the new JDR Paris!
The JDR Paris team is taking a new step forward with this model, which has been on our radar since the very beginning. We were already talking about it during the Facel Vega era in our “wish list”!
Raw and sexy at the same time, especially in this Jean Behra Cuban GP version, the very strong presence from all angles of this successful design is and remains very inspiring today, just like its beloved Nice driver, a fashion icon with a big heart, a little too quickly forgotten.

The photo of Caroll Shelby driving the “skinny” and graceful 300S on the grid of the Cuban GP next to the “monster” makes you smile! And what if that was when the desire to graft a big V8 into his next car came to him?

This model also represents a turning point for us, in terms of accessibility. Since tether cars are reserved for an international elite, both aesthetic and micromechanical, we wanted to take a step towards greater accessibility to our world with maximum integration into the design. A car of a more affordable size, with the axle housings and engine mounts integrated into the casting, just like the fuel tank (a nod to Jacques Durant’s early Véga productions, such as the Maserati 48).

Our study is based on the Glow Alag 2.5 CC rear valve engine that we have available as well as our turned aluminum wheels and our vulcanized rubber tires in 50. In practice a Super Tigre, a Mac Coy 29 or a Micron Racing can also find their place.

A simple angle transmission and easy access to the glow plug with its little “mushroom head” look are both technical and aesthetic choices and a deliberate nod to the beautiful 500 F2 manufactured by Movosprint under the leadership of Alberto Ascari himself!

Did you know, by the way, that the Commendatore himself only moderately appreciated this personal commercial initiative of the great Italian pilot?

This car will initially be available as a partial or complete kit. We are also exploring the possibility of providing complete pre-assembled kits, like the Movosprint at the time! But that’s another story, one we hope to return to soon. In the meantime, enjoy the prototype assembled by the expert hands of Pierre Yves!
